For one month in the fall of 2018, myself and artists Leila Weefur, Dionne Lee, and Olivia Krause each designed a visual spell for an alternative future to display on different billboards around Oakland, California. As the project organizer, I reached out to each participating artist to invite them into collaboration. Through discussion, we collectively came to the project’s theme. Each billboard was designed seperately by each artist.
This billboard, which I designed, showed at 42nd Street and Market, Oakland, CA.

Streaming live from planet earth. Unhinged from bolts that never existed. Ride chaos and invite the gods of dreaming. Commit magic everyday until all earth beings are free. It’s a muscle don’t forget. The future is a world without prisons or police and a place where land heals.
